Find the services with one person behind them

Ownership on every component makes concentration risk visible before it becomes an incident.

Before Fenwaveuntil it breaks waiting

“Who owns the reconciliation job? … Marc did. He left in April.”

What the wait costs

Ownership discovered during an incident, which is the most expensive possible time to discover it.

Capability

Service Catalog

The catalog requires an owner on every component, and services created through App Builder get one at creation. Grouping the catalog by owner turns an abstract worry into a list you can act on: these four services have the same single owner, and this one has an owning group that no longer exists.

How it works

  1. 01Open the catalog and group components by owner.
  2. 02Identify owners carrying a disproportionate number of services.
  3. 03Identify components whose owning group no longer exists.
  4. 04Reassign, and check the dependency graph for what each one carries.
